A Surrender of the Heart (Free verse) by Torok
She dwells in solitude, content in her own company. He dwells in solitude, miserable alone, It seems that she's satisfied, that life's enough Mascuerading as the girl at ease on her own. He shows his anger, his envy, his suffering Knowing that he needs someone to love him. But they both give up, accepting thier fate Never knowing love, feeling only hate.

Down the ladder: Me, Myself, and I

Why would she feel hate? She is content alone. He has problems, but the last line doesn't seem to work for her.
