Crash & burn (Free verse) by Sunshine Conkey

Whenever you would call me, I'd be there But now that I need you, you don't care. I'm a stranger in your world, with no place to turn, I wasted my tears, then crashed and burn I can't love you anymore, I fell to fast You dropped me when I needed you and put me in your past. Thousand angels dance around me to protect me from the pain. I could have been your angel, you could have been my all, I needed you to catch me, but you just let me fall.

A ha ha. My lad, you've never read 'Moby Dick'. You can never make it through the section where Captain Ahab is making love to the Thanksgiving squid in the pantry. Every time I've seen you try, you simply quietly close the book and then lock yourself in the bathroom, only to emerge an hour later covered in a chitinious shell made from some unutterable dried fluid.
