Decisions (Free verse) by x311

O, how I loathe the cognitive dissonance of my human mind. What to do, what to do? One direction pushed, one direction pulled, neither more powerful than the other. Tearing, scratching, fighting to win, these emotions are. Pain outpouring and more forthcoming. My heart must grow cold, build its shell, become an unbreakable barrier. Love everything on the outside, keep the hurt locked inside. Decisions sapping my strength. The thought of a negative future, stemming from my mistakes, clouds my view. It all comes down to this, down to me. In my hand is a power so great. I can hurt or I can heal. In the end I must do both. The time approaches, the zero hour calls. My choice must be now. O, what to do? What to do...

Dull. 2. I read the whole poem, but the fact that I really couldn't care less about it before I got halfway through tells the whole story, me thinks.
