The City (New Jerusaem) (Lyric) by blkarak

Hope, love, voices from above, blessings for the pure and chaste, Excitement, fashion, arousing passion, a myriad of sensual taste, Beauty, lights, heavenly sights, the vitality of purpose and haste, Culture, art, affairs of the heart, the resources of wealth without waste; The city thrives, a sanctified tribe of heroes and persons of esteem, that are ready for battle or shows of wit against any they so deem, visions of mercy and the triumph of justice break out of the realm of dream, as the sons of majesty issue wise edicts that are actually as wise as they seem, the wealthy and, also, those of modest means come together to work as a team, and everywhere a sense of duty to aid another when "help" is the scream; The promising rewards of the shimmering streets invites faith, once more, in the divine, the transient saints call out in the night, "We beseech, Thee, oh Lord, for a sign," bestowing love and help to any in need, the city and her children doth shine, for, wherever you look, there's evidence of plenty, all the glasses overflow with wine, hard work and rich bounty are common themes, as such, everyone has a chance to dine, and the signs of happiness are hard to ignore, when everywhere is heard, "The city, she is mine;" The beacon of light that's seen through the fog is sweet urbania hoping to be found, an oasis of plenty to any hungry soul, a lifeline to those who've nearly drowned, stories of wonder and sweet reward are gifts of the city for which all are bound, the travelers and the seekers come from everywhere, searching deperately for salvation's sound, laughter, joy, and sweet triumph, are the music of the newly crowned, and everywhere, as far as the eye can see are the pleasures that so easily astound; We all look ahead, hoping to find anything to make us certain, that the actors and the props are, indeed, real and the stage is set beneath the curtain.
