Add More Oil (Free verse) by heartlessempath

I suppose you think I’m stupid, When really I’m just wrapped in Ignorance, and bathing in oblivion. Which is like bubbles, A soft cocoon, They pop every so often, And I am obliged to Pour more oil into the tub So I can stay decent and Naïve and so that you will Not notice that Underwater there is not a girl, Simply me and what you made of that. Not a whole lot, I’d say. Argue me if you wish to lose, I’m everyone’s girl Do as you please. Cheshire grin, and a Grateful nod your way for the Mutual adoration, which is Why people fall in love in the first place. That, and a tax break. Kids, minivan and a dog named Spot, because you let the kids love him, When you’re the one cleaning up after it. Still cleaning up after me, too. Ever wish life were as simple as A bubble bath. Add more oil, I’m starting to understand.

I like this talk of a girl in water, with oil.

and I like the poem - I want to give it a nine.

so, I will.
