Tsunami Love (Free verse) by The_Third_Isis
Sirens always ring on the first of every month in Hawaii.
I have no explanation as to why years ago
I walked away from this Cancerian/Aquarian
inundation,
lava flows.
Creeping away at two am
from a rented bungalow.
Celebrating your second place at the backdoor
shootout I snuck out, waning moon, aborted our engagement.
Tiki shadows on my back, Waimea bay, Plummeria Lei,
and sake. Stains on my robe, salty kisses mark my neck a jellyfish sting.
I ran all the way uphill, your love
is a tsunami. Eighty feet of pacific wave upon me.
You drag my heart towards Fiji furiously.
Uproot my nature and scour it
along with those sailboats that had once been docked,
Kaneohe bay.
Iâm out of luck,
only memories and whatâs left of my emotions.
I spin rinse and tumble deeper into your realm.
My hair entangles in a crimson colored
coral head.
Lungs bursting,
ears bleeding,
angelfish flutter by
as I die a Aloha lullaby.
