Black Rose (Free verse) by TheVampireLeStan

The real me buried down inside, where she always cries. The tears stream down her face, But no one ever knows. She has been locked up for years and years, No one has seen her for a very long time. Hidden behind this mask of calm, She is full of pain and anxiety. Another day, another struggle, trying to keep her penned up. She mustn't show herself, For, she is the black rose of society. She thinks differently than most, her attitude towards life isn't the same. No one could ever understand her, But she is the real me. I am but her lonely mask, Trying to keep the world from her. She does not deserve their ridicule, and defiantly not their laughter. Only now, she wants to be free, She doesn't think she needs me. But if I leave her, she'll know the truth, But I'll be lost to her forever. What's it like without this wall and mask, Obstructing her view on life? She asks To live her own life is all she wants, But that's the one thing I can't give. One day, I fear, she'll break out, And leave behind her faithful mask. Run away as fast as she can, Laughing and never looking back. She'll leave me like all the others have, And be her own self. Then she'll realize what a mistake it was, And wish she still had me. I'm protecting her for her own good, Not letting her get hurt. But I should back off and let her make, her own mistakes and find her own faults. I've decided to let her go, rather than having her break free. This way will hurt her less, But she'll still be the black rose of society.

Just to let you know,I love you... Da1 says let her free and arm yourself with the weapon of indifference.
