When I was ten years old, or so, I had an extra tooth grow
in behind one of my front teeth. I don't remember exactly how
they fixed it, but I had braces for quite a while,
and even now I wear a jagged smile.
Inside my cheek, there are scars still,
from the metal wires that were careless cut,
where only I can find them, and taste the stainless steel
with the bitter blade of my tongue.
