Enantiodromia (Free verse) by Bonehiss

I love you Soul Doctor. Gentle caretaker of my spirit, Down with the sickness unto death, My love for you. The frail progeny Of our worlds in collision. Our worlds turn. Darkness devours the light As your transformation is complete. Now, master of misdirection, Expert in the art of deception You work with grim determination, Craving deliverance From the bondage of my love. Igniting the bonfires of disharmony, You nurture my dysfunction, Eroding the bedrock Of my hope and desire, My love for you. The frail progeny Of our lives in derision Our lives burn. My mind racing with the lurid energy Of a thousand downtowns, Seeks explanations. But there are none. Only a deeper, darker shadow Cast on the landscape of my consciousness. Physician turned sorcerer, Heal thyself. I hate you, Soul Doctor.

Well, for starters:

First outlined by Heraclitus, enantiodromic change is the principle which governs all cycles of natural life, from the smallest to the greatest and means that eventually everything turns into its opposite.
In Jungian terms, the inherent workings of enantiodromia within our psyche continually lead us to accessing and integrating our shadow. Jung writes:
Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual's conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. It forms an unconscious snag, thwarting our most well-meant intentions.
