The Bicycle Rider (Free verse) by [mojo]
He's a strange looking character,
With an out of place demeanour,
He has an odd bearded face
And the casual air of a full time dreamer,
He's cloud floating, surfing sun rays,
He's perfectly content,
People when asked about him smile and say,
"He was here .... but he went".
He went to float with the clouds,
He went to cycle round his rounds,
You'll find him if he wants to be found,
The long haired, hippy cycling dealer.
He smiles a smile of wily charming,
He flops his sandals in the sun,
Never more than faintly disarming,
Certainly never one to worry or run.
He cycles on with well-rehearsed patience,
He nods at friends of... business acquaintance,
He lives his life on the scales of chance,
The sixties dropped out nineties dealer.
