Gladly For Love (Lyric) by sliver

This year has been lonely and empty, Just like the others before. But somehow I keep holding on, In the hope that you'll walk through my door. I know that it seems kinda crazy, This dream I dream each day. But I just keep thinking you're lost, And that tomorrow you'll find your way. This hollow empty feeling That I carry in my chest, Is starting to wear me down, But I swear I'm doing my best. It's hard, you know, Holding on to this desire. When I have no one to share it with, It's an all consuming fire. Still, the minutes are ticking down, To the promise of another year. And I pray that before it's over, I'll finally be holding you near. So, whoever you are, I want you to know, That this pain is never enough, If that's what it takes to hold you, I suffer it gladly for love.

I believe Dovina meant that the last stanza reveals that this poem is addressed to someone who you don't know. Thus she cannot suggest you write it down and mail it, since you have no one to mail it to.
