G-d and My Guitar (Lyric) by nypoet22

My girl had a scene she wanted to play of a man on a horse and a house in a kingdom far away Well this is not that house and I am not that man But I’m doing what I can to let her go ‘Cause you don’t really own what you have, all you can keep is who you are Fast times are just as fast forgotten, and so far the only ones who stay to play along are G-d and my guitar. I had a job that paid me a lot But the end of the day was all I gained with what I got. I might have had a girl, but didn’t have a friend, Didn’t even understand how to love ‘Cause you don’t really own what you have, all you can keep is who you are Fast times are just as fast forgotten, and so far the only ones who stay to play along are G-d and my guitar. Well I’m starting to learn, I’m starting to see, and I’m starting to get a clue as to what love might be Deceitful kisses weep for horses and for kings but faithful are the wounds that give us wings (1) ‘Cause you don’t really own what you have, all you can keep is who you are Fast times are just as fast forgotten, so far but would you like to stay and play along with G-d and my guitar. How would you like to stay and sing along with G-d and my guitar ----- 1. Proverbs 27:6 - "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."

It's hard to judge lyrics without music, but you do have some fine lines here.
