Voices Within (Free verse) by DJCopasetic

I've been searching for my soul in a pool of despair, And I think I came close but I no longer care. Somewhere I've heard that God can forgive all my sins, But now it's too late 'cause I'll never fit in. I've been thinking for a while that it's time to move on, My addictions are no longer fun. But I'm so high, yeah I'm comfortably numb, And I know that I will never come down. I don't mind if you care but I care when you mind, I'm behind on my game and ahead of my time. So forget what you've heard and undo what you've learned, You can play with fire and you'll never get burned. I keep hearing dark voices in the back of my head, They've convinced my more than twice that I'm better off dead. But you can't listen to my song if it's never been played, You can't learn from mistakes that have never been made.
