May I Cook Dinner? (Free verse) by colbaby
She looked lovingly into his eyes and smiled at him saying, âI can see
my reflection in your eyes Darling⦠oh, youâre right⦠I am ugly.â
âThat doesnât matter to me,â he says. âA lot of people are.â
She hugs him tightly and sweetly whispers into his ear, âYouâre
right, Darling. You know, I loathe being ugly. With a vengeance, in fact.
â
He quips, âLook, donât worry that youâre not good looking and
attractive like a normal person. I kinda look at you as almost a person
anyway. And besides, they say opposites attract and thatâs why you
ended up with me. Itâs part of Godâs plan for you to be ugly. And
hopefully our kids will be good looking because, honestly, one ugly
person in this house is enough.â
He nibbles on her ear and she giggles and laughs, âIâll never forget
the day you granted me permission to be your girlfriend. And now you
mention children. Do you think weâll ever get married, Darling?â
âOnly if I grant you permission my Darlingâ, he replies. âAnd
speaking of permission, you may now cook dinner.â
