Hell is spring (Free verse) by INTRANSIT

Here comes spring again! "outrageous and demanding" as she can be, covering the world in buds of Kawasaki green. Soon she'll try to drown us down and up will pop muddy little frog-boys. Then she'll pull a crazy Ivan and hurl the burning sun at us again. Then comes the army of vile yellow snapdragons and dandy-lions and poppies in construction barrel orange. Clusters of noisy white peonies like children screaming for attention and bloody skinned-knee roses, sunrises in fussy-girl pink and sunsets , hot, and dragging. And as quickly as she came, her bucking and writhing will shudder to a halt and my only vow this year is to step smack into her path so that she knocks me out. Cold.

I don't know about you, but I spent all day shoveling 6' snow drifts. SPRING? Not in Peyton Colorado,
