Flies in the ointment. (Free verse) by darby pyn

Her well is shallow and I’m discarded plankton stuck in the edging. living in symbiotic misery with the dregs of her creation. climbing up the cobblestone scales to the light of day rehearsing the prescription with ardent persistence. why must I suffer for acceptance! she shrugs with her head held low in a permanent slouch. I realize then I will never pierce her cerebral armor.
