I'll Be In My Bed, My Grave (Free verse) by longships

We rape our brothers and sisters, We rape our oceans and forests of life. Caged animals incessantly suffer, Under needles of liquid filled glass. Darkness caresses the sleepers, Far away from the bustle of day. We die in hovels unsheltered, Are forgotten in the present and past. Our bodies are filled with impurities, From white powder to nicotine brown. Sick minds profess to astound us, With atoms that split in two. We send our men folk into battle, To fight wars we don???t really need. They butcher and cripple each other, Leaving sadness and hate in their wake. The forces of wisdom that guide us, They must realise our stupid mistakes? We despise those who seek to be different, Condemn all we do not understand. Man???s only enemy is himself. Does he realise? Is best left unanswered. A free world should be his main aim, Hidden knowledge, the gateway to peace. Let???s take hold of our ailing senses, Turn the key and make peace ours.

I don't know about you, but....I don't rape my brothers, or my sisters. And I also don't use white powder or brown nicotine. And I don't despise those who seek to be different either...man's only enemy IS himself. Well done. We have no natural predators left, so obviously, the only thing that can kill a person, generally, is another person.
