An Ode To An Angel (Pimple) by Bhaskaryya

Okay, I had written this a long time back after a misunderstanding with one of my 'very special' friends. --------------Dedicated To Kasturi--------------- Who says miracles never happen? They do for those lucky few. Believe me, once I also met an angel And it was simply a fairy tale come true. With her wings of friendship, She descended perhaps from those blue skies And the best of both the heaven and the earth, Dwelled in the innocence of her eyes. She stepped into my life When I had forgotten to trust And her warm smile made me come alive When my spirits were covered deep in dust. Life was worth living once more And with her, all seemed just fine. But the moron that I was, Always strived for more than what was mine. At heart I only wished her best Though in my expressing I proved quite inept I went on hurting and accusing her all along While she only silently wept. But what she never knew is that For all those tears she shed I have cried twice the amount And even wished I was dead And now that she has gone away, I wonder if it is too late to make amends Oh, if only I could turn back the time And just return to being friends. But even if she never comes back to me This, I will cherish till my very end I have been amongst those lucky few to have seen a miracle Yes, once even I had an angel friend. ***********************************************************

"strived for more than what was mine" Good line, and I say that because I have done that.

"lucky few to have seen a miracle" Yes, and it's so easy to see afterward.

Your explanitory notes at beginning and end only detract. The poem stands on its own.
