Racial Hate (Free verse) by Glasseyez

Black or white and red all over Blood is red and knows no color Skin black or white or yellow, brown This liquid always finds the ground Race is only skin deep so why is it that we Use it to judge each and every person we meet Blood has one color and our hearts do too That is red only changing when we are dead In which we return from the dust we came No man is different we are all the same….. Stop using race to fuel your rage.

Alchemy, racism is unfortunately a biproduct of 'evolution'. But the problem lies in the fact that a lot of importance has been given to the differences rather than what we are. There are a lot of prejudices against people of varying nationalities. And just because one may not be white, (figuratively speaking), it doesn't mean he doesn't know how to be a human being, or he loves less. I can tell you that my Indian brothers and sisters are treated with less dignity in many parts of the world. Once a person knows that he/she is an Indian, there's immediate discrimination. In many circumstances they're even treated as 'untouchables' or even 'a nuisance'. I can even vouch that for the blacks. I've witnessed a couple of uncomfortable situations which have made me think about this a lot. I was quite liked Dovina's poem - 'mixed Quartet' - why don't we all sing together in unison and harmony with our differences rather than play in a one-man band eg. Amanda goes solo. Think about it. Would you take a second look at me if you were to meet me in person?
