Summer Song (Lyric) by wilco

As these days grow thick with the feel of summers’ slow demise our skins stick to hot air, balloons in powder blue skies. The tallest grass, not content to wither beneath bicycle wheels sneaks its way past the seats of the bleachers on Anderson Field. Crying out, the young girl in the yellow dress cuts her knee on the hard concrete in front of my house at the street. She’s the girl that gave me my first kiss and it’s something from my youth that, surely, I’ll never forget. And all of these things in remembrance of summer faded away with the loss of my youth. Memories remain in the people I meet and linger through autumn like the kiss of a girl from Providence Street. Satellites ride across the heavens like stars but no place to rest and disappear around the side of a world that’s moving too fast. The smiles on the faces of the people standing in line disappear as they turn around and go back inside. All of the cars, black as they pass by your house light up the night with headlamps that cut through the dark. Quietly wind up the hill to the church where everyone waits patiently, silently as the tears make lines on their face. And all of these things in remembrance of summer faded away with the loss of my youth. Memories remain in the people I meet and linger through autumn like the kiss of a girl from Providence Street.

This is really good. I don't mean to make assumptions on your influences, but this does actually sound like a lot of Wilco lyrics.
