Don't Cry, Sharon Tate (Free verse) by wilco
Where are you now? In the valley of the dolls? The frankness of the moment recedes, for nothing more than a guess. In the bleakness of your life, a movie star and nothing less. Abby and Fry understood the game, and gave no peace in return. Where was the Roman on that infamous night? Having his way with a starlet would be my guess. Hotels in London can be killers, for only but one, and that is you. Give the baby back to the gods, and offer yourself in her stead. The Roman understood the game, and gave no salvation in return. Did the Beatles speak to you as well? Perhaps you simply didn't listen. Something could have come of this, but there could be nothing more to gain. The markings on the wall are gazing back, at sly Mr. Vincent in the green trench-coat. Uncle Charlie understood the game, but why couldn’t you?
