Many Thanks (Free verse) by Dovina
On coming back home From being away I really expected no party Condolences or thanks. Oh maybe a word or two From someone who cared, But rhymes and limericks Coming from everyone? I can’t tell you how humble This all makes me feel How utterly unworthy Your concern is quite nice. I just want to ease your troubled minds And say that in Argentina I did not actually drown in the marina, But write this in a little cantina. Now, the words in your verse May sound to some terse And though I may not understand I know your intension Appreciate invention Will get back to you Soon as I can.
