Scorn of a Lover (Free verse) by ThoughtfulSoul
It's because of you I sit here alone Your hatred and cruelty linger within me devouring my very essence. I find it hard to trust others, for the possiblilty that they may end up like you I find it hard to care for others, since you have poisoned my soul with the coldness you showed me for so many years I loved you and in returned you showered me with the pain you couldnt show anyone else You have tainted me and because of that I am alone, I do not want to hurt anyone else the way you have hurted me My feelings wither away and with them so do I, I wish I wouldn't have met you With my withering feelings I am disgusted with you, and yet I'm disgusted with myself because I still love you

Up the ladder: I could rule myself
Down the ladder: No More Autumn Poems (Edit)
