little angel (Free verse) by ThePariahDog with outstretched hand
i opened the door
and saw you laying
on the floor
your arms were raised
spread fully wide
like the wings of an angel
descending from on high
though my eyes could not deceive
the body before me, i couldn't believe
was pale and dead
crimson rivers ebbing instead
of rays of hope or compassion
you still resembled an angel, after a fashion
