My (Free verse) by alverland theme park

I can but pray that heaven’s eyes did not tear As my mother’s ears did bleed on that day I can but hope that society’s perception will change As quickly as my father’s heart fell on that day I just want you to be proud of me for who I am But who the fuck am I, I’m frightened I have no clue When you touch me, I feel the life flowing through me I see your dreams, your hope I can hear your suffering, As it takes over your triumphs Most of all, I can see you When I look to the back of your blue eyes To the intensity, compassion, beauty of your soul I see something and it breaks my soul into joyous weeping I can see my father’s dignity, The principles you hold so dear Your aura of integrity. My mother’s strength, Your will is invincible, Your mind is genuine. My brother’s competitiveness, Striving for success will only lead to it His sensitivity, Your genuine concern for people, Your emotion turns to optimism My sister’s innocence, It’ll take her to the top of the world, And send her tumbling down.

This is very expressive and I can relate on many levels. Keep it up! -10-
