Return To Narnia (Free verse) by Caducus

A pale suit was hanging. He wanted to fall with the snow, But watched it dust the purple sky Like Turkish delight. As his darkness consumed him, Light began to exhume him. His eyes flickered like a curling wick, Then closed forever, As the wardrobe doors opened. But the spell had not been broken, And the mournful winds roared like ‘Aslan’. As the monolith of man laid still. Then snow began to melt And buds began to blossom. Fauns writhed in agony to ecstasy And walked again as men. Asleep on the ground was a young boy. Who awoke in the ashes of man This was Narnia, his eternal joy, And happily ever after from once upon a time Had for his first time just began.
