To dust (Free verse) by casey

I don't understand these guys, Soaring from lows to highs, pretending to be so wise. They say one thing, With the confidence of a king, but honesty they do not bring. They say what even they can't believe, And act so young and naive, my trust they don't receive. Relationships changing from friend to foe, Dripping from head to toe, in lies that hurt me so. This is something I just can't let go, I hope that you know, trust is a trait that has to grow. These people posses no dedication, What they say is their sole aspiration is conceived in a moment's creation. I look at them in disgust, Why should I trust when they let their dreams turn to dust? This is how they could treat me, My friends all agree, nothing here is ever guaranteed. Do they mean what they say? Or is it to keep me with them today, my doubts comes without delay. Their passions are fading away, Instead of mine which blaze away, their attitude has me in dismay. Now I often think, Even when people are in sync, they're falling off the brink. My faith in people is now gone, It did not have much to thrive on, and left as quickly as the dawn. Do guys say things to keep me by their side? As if to provide something beside the love that they set aside? When we are so perfectly in stride, Even then I must confide that my trust will always reside. I find myself racked with suspicion, A trait I didn't greet with recognition, this is in addition: To the fact that I find myself in an unfavorable position I need people around me that posses dedication and ambition. And now all i think of in disbelief, Is are these the people that once held beliefs they could be anything from thief to commander in chief?
