I am a dream (Free verse) by mozac
[In persian literature there is a form of poetry called ghazal. The word
ghazal literally means, to converse with the beloved. A ghazal usually
has 13 couplets, but could be more or less. The interesting aspect of
this poetry is that each couplet is independent of the other, i.e. there
is no single topic in the poem. The only thing common is the rhythm and
the rhyme. I try here to incorporate this in english. However, it is
almost impossible to rhyme words in english the way they rhyme in
persian, due to the difference in the language. So i try and use the
meter to overcome this problem. So their is a common meter throughout
the poetry but each couplet or set of couplets are independent of each
other]
---------
I am a dream
hidden beneath closed eyes
I am a shadow
without the sun
without any edges
in a moment
Those flickering flames
I am the flicker
I am the wind
I am the rhythm
of an unmoving sound
of an unmoving movement
I am a peaceful sigh
of a completed destiny
an untouched word
unpoken symphonies
I move my hand
a will of desire
I close my eyes
I am the word
the cause of tears
I am ablaze
an unquenchable fire
Hear me
I am silent
Your evey thought
in a single word
in a single tear
Yes, I am
the sound of silence
awakened, asleep, awakened
a rhythymic beat
on silent drums
