Skin Deep Sun (Free verse) by Morvium

You got a tattoo there in the hidden place below your back that I always longed to touch. Where once, not long ago my fingers grazed across in yearning as our bodies crushed togeather in the moment. You put a sun there to cover my dark taint. Day to kill away the night. And now you'll always feel it. A small itching near the base of your spine, a gnawing under your skin, at the exact spot where I traced the shape of my heart. Not to satisfy my reasoning, but it becomes that nonetheless... you scarred yourself where I touched you once.
