Hero Within a Mother (Free verse) by confuzdlilgirl

She brought me into this earth I came and then I noticed how much she reigned if I'm confused beyond my site I'll go to her to make it right A boy has come and ripped my heart in two she isn't always there to coddle, but knows just what to do If a gap appears between a friend of mine she tells me not to worry and just give it time If I come to a time where I don't know where to turn She comes to tell me its only a lesson I am to learn Not to worry for I'm fine just how I conceive I can get what I want if I only just believe Sometimes she does things I just don't understand Like keep me from going out or doing what I can She doesn't try to shelter me from society's ways instead she teaches me to look beyond the haze Though I can see bad, to always look for the good To always say "I will" and never "I could" I hear of her childhood and her times with guys I know I resemble her when I express through my eyes She is the one that has taught me everyone's ways It is she that I know will be there through out my days When I walk down the aisle and look at her tear I'll know even though I'm grown, she will always be near When I trade places and become the mother I know she will help me teach and raise my daughter The way she has with me, I will do so the same I will show her everything and the rules of the game She is the guardian of my life My protector from the strife My teacher of things in school I won't see My Hero...in which I hope to be.
