A Cautionary Tale (Free verse) by Tman

Early in the morning I left my Bed With the either of sleep filling my head Trudging down to the kitchen Table A yawn and stretch was all I was able All the beauty of early June Was displayed in pale sunlight outside my room This house of my family in perfect stillness sat While I mulled the moment I was at It was just another day in lifes routine Where I was going I'd already been Sunshine on my shoulder, sleep in my eyes Sipping coffee I admire the flys Smoke in my hand I pull on it deep Now I'm a little more awake then asleep My old house murmers an apologetic creak As I lift my leg for a one cheek sneak Bearing down I let it thunder To late, to late, I realize my blunder Sunshine on my shoulder fly on the wall what was a routine morning is now not at all Oh dread and dismay, such a unpleasant suprise Seconds tick by as my anxieties rise I should have known better then to push so hard so fast In my carelessnes I have mistaken liquid for gas Regrets, regrets, I have more then a few For in truth it was folly that filled my pants with this goo Alone in these moments I sit here and think And wish to pass on this wisdom as I bathe in my stink "Push gentle in the morning when you first test your bowel" For now I must rise and make a mess of a towel

I don't think it works putting your rhyming words on a seperate line. It makes the poem sound like Father Ted's 'my lovely horse'. Also sleep does not fill one's head.
