Edna's Lovely World Cup Poem (Lyric) by Edna Sweetlove
Hooray! Hoorah! Disgusting times are here again
For worthless ugly fat working class Englishmen,
St George's banner waving over vans and cars,
Beer bellies bursting from boozing in proletarian bars.
What a lovely change from gawping at Big Bruvver -
Yes, it's World Cup time for the Enger-land footie lover!
Sublimating empty lives on futile factory floors
Making heroes out of oiks and their painted whores,
Cheering mindlessly in front of gaudy giant screens,
Talking nonstop shit about Enger-land football dreams.
But with some luck, shortlived will be their joys
As unknown wogs kick the living shit out of "our boys".
Let's sneer a bit at those who saved up all the year
To go to Germany, to fight and swig a lotta beer.
Homewards they'll soon creep to their shabby Council estate,
Whining "we wuz robbed, it just ain't fair, mate".
Tattooed arms, smelly clothes from hanging out in boozers,
Let's hail Enger-land, yobboball's perpetual losers.
