Chickens (Free verse) by rnuk

When I was four we had some chickens. They lived in a coop at the bottom of the garden. Eventually they had come to realise we were cooking, or worse, selling their unborn babies so they started to peck at and smash the eggs before we could come and get them so we had them killed. This is how I learnt about Marxism.

Interesting, although a faulty analogy with Marxism. I would have thought the poem fitted Capitalism better.
