goddess of the harvest (Free verse) by calliope

i hugged a girl with no bones today. i guess she was deaf too to boot. she pulled me in like a sunken ship. and i lay like wreckage afoot. her boyfriend shot pellets of lead through his flute. to punish her for her cheating. i hopped on an elevator to arrive at his paramount. where she once must have seen him. i hugged that girl with no bones, only cartilage. and coughed when she finally released me. she obviously didnt hear the word i whispered into her ear. "persephone"

Um, mythologically. Her 9-month return to earth from Hades corresponds with the growing season. And Demeter is also a harvest-goddess.
