Heirophant (Free verse) by cyan9

Perusing manuals of greek symbols, Whilst alloys were cast into moulds, Femeninity came forth from hot coals. Gold trickled down charred faces Of statues that held burning dollar bills, Awaiting the hammers strike upon the anvil, Reticent to the sparks that spilt forth from evil. Striding out to set example to their cowering hearts, The maker of living sculptures dealt out their tarot cards. Pyrite caught in eyes like shards of broken glass, All that the stationary beings had worked for, All that lay there in the cards.

The Hierophant is the Key that corresponds to the High Priestess, right--symbol of social conformity, rules and ritual, all of that? I'm not seeing the connection here. "Reticent to the sparks" doesn't really work in terms of grammar/meaning. Whilst is an archaism. (Just pointing out some things to think about.) Not sure what this is about--you've got some fresh images but it doesn't hang together (for me, anyway) just yet.
