silver skeins of muffled cloud
crisscross the sky as far as I can see,
and the stars are woven in the web
like little breaths of air.
and it is I alone and the world.
still I go on, and stare in wonder
as the stars grow larger and larger,
and my thoughts ripple fast through my grasping fingers.
I stop.
I stand motionless beneath the sky,
and whirling about me madly, madly
the great stars of the night.
