The Sun (Free verse) by MacFrantic

The weary Sun, upon his bed, Laid to rest his blazing head. Underneath his solemn frown, Turned the cosmos upside-down Weeks and months, millenia passed. Years of sleep in shadows cast. All the Earth, devoid of light, Within a dark, eternal night. The Sun awoke, his Earth reborn, To bring a long, belated morn. Arrested fire, alone in space, Rose up again and showed his face.

Couplet 4 is redundant and contradictory. (How the hell did you manage that?)

Why call it a free verse poem?

Kind of a good lullaby.
