Caducus (destined to fall) (Free verse) by Caducus
Destined to fall
he fell.
From birth
to Earth
to heavenly mirth,
And with her he would dwell.
He was named.
But felt no identity.
He was tamed
by her entity.
They would walk through fields of corn.
Repair one another when torn.
Lay in bluebells and dream.
Weep with willows by the stream.
He named for her a star one day,
and like him it fell.
Close to her yet so faraway,
But she could never tell.
Destined to fall,
he could never rise,
and she saw such sadness in his eyes.
I have loved you before she said,
In another life when you were dead.
Your wings were beating in my heart
and when it was broken you were free,
my life was ended but my heart was mended
for I knew in the next life,
youâd be with me.
He asked her why she died.
To which she smiled and replied,
âbecause I never lived my loveâ
I have waited for you forever
and heaven no longer exists above,
Its in us both together.
