Tonight At The Dead Man's Ball (Free verse) by dougsoderstrom

All the world’s an illusion, Enamored by the shine, The actors are staged and ready to perform, So let’s go out and get in line. Now, religion is such a wonderful thing, Devotees following their sacred rules, All of them praying for their hometown team to win, You see..... they’re no fools. Reps for all of our people, Can be found in Washington on The Hill, Take heed at how their hands are extended, Just waiting for another dollar bill. Three dancing babies, two caring clowns, And a fakir from Western Nepal, Each and all of them performing..... tonight, At the opening of The Dead Man’s Ball. Pretty women’s faces, And men with wallets thick, Hey, let’s go out and get some more viagra, That’ll surely do the trick. The king and his court are ready to reign, Doing what they’ve always done best, Taking care of their money-buddied friends, And to hell with all the rest! And then, of course, there are others, Those who live in different lands, Their feet all-raw, bloodied and bruised, From having walked the sun-drenched sands. Three dancing babies, two caring clowns, And a fakir from Western Nepal, Each and all performing..... tonight, At the opening of The Dead Man’s Ball. Storm clouds are gathering all over the place, It’s about time to go to war again, Better get the troops primed and ready for battle, So we can send them all in. America, oh America, Land of the brave and free, But what about all the children we’ve killed, You know..... the ones we never seem to see? All the world’s an illusion, Enamored by the shine, The actors are staged and ready to perform, So let’s go out and get in line. Three dancing babies, two caring clowns, And a fakir from Western Nepal, Each and all performing..... tonight, At the opening of The Dead Man’s Ball.

Thanks for the help.

I changed "one's" to "ones."
