To My Little Known Love (Sestina) by MacFrantic

A singular infatuation satisfies my mind Such beauty fraught with a heavy longing Without you I am an impartial witness To my own futility and gradual demise But my eyes have seen enough of your grace That you do not occupy my dreams any more Of course you raise my fever ever more The mood of your emotion moves my mind But one connection both hearts are longing Is the bleeding passion of our solemn grace If this confession flirts with love's demise The angels can do nothing but bear witness Although for you I cannot be a lonely witness My only hope to supplant their inferior longing Is an attempt at freeing my piece of mind While the perfume of your soul excites my grace It will turn the spirit sour more and more Like all chivalry it shall be granted slow demise Rather wondrous is your doubt of our demise No sympathy precedes our falling grace All that's left is an empty sense of longing And while I may never come back for more Your allure still approaches with fate as witness But somehow disdain has not yet poisoned your mind I've found seduction alone entertains my mind Not only with you but of my own demise For this one girl will light my path no more And you know that only my brooding witness Of your everlasting charm and fiery longing Shall bring forth a sense of pride sans grace So if your loving stranger passes such grace Without so much as an inkling of reverent witness Then understand that the intentions are more Or less a figment of the intoxicated mind Because when my demons have come to announce my demise There will be an absence of despair in my longing Now grief has landed and you are the drug I'm longing Medicine to the unbearable casualty of grace You and I both create false notions in my clouded mind
