Just A Day (Free verse) by nothingtoanyone

A lonely walker walking down a deserted highway. A rambler that has lost all signs of hope. Just when he was ready to give up and fall to his knees begging of the Lord to spare him from his boiling misery, he hears the sound of a human made monster. A single car driving along a seldom traveled road, looks upon the lonely walker and shows him the sign of peace. This proves to the walker that today is just a day in a life full of years and that tomorrow has yet to show its’ face. Onward he pushes himself, onward to where he thought he would never be going. To partake in something he never envisioned himself supporting. An ex-con helping others see the light that he saw that one hot summer day when a stranger gave him the two peaceful fingers.
