Beauty? (Free verse) by Celticai

Plumping, primping, pinching, preening, All in the name of a societal image of beauty. I conform…... in vane and vein. Why? Who observes the shell and passes judgement Or has the right to do so? Abrade, exfoliate, moisturise and cleanse… I’d rather you see into the window of my soul. Flying free and soaring through the verisimilitude of today, Yesterday, And seeks its own path for the future.

Why is primping fake. Too many women take this absurd approach; they go out looking like boys. My soul is not even approachable if my hair is a rat's nest and my lips look like Tom McCain's.
