Of Gods & Beast In Villanelle (Villanelle) by Bachus

I was not the only lion sighing Humbled by my lady's grace Our Keep is cold, this city's dying. The past... It needs no justifying So much for 'saving face' I was not the only lion sighing. Pride is no longer satisfying So take my courage just in case Our Keep is cold, this city's dying. The laws of love are worth abiding When, and if, you set a pace I was not the only lion sighing. Your ways are ancient and reminding Of ether realms and inner space Our Keep is cold, this city's dying. My head is low, my mane is hiding Secrets no beast should embrace I was not the only lion sighing Our Keep is cold, this city's dying.
